I'm finding Adobe Photoshop tutorials out the wazoo, but it seems every time I'm walking through one of them, they say something like ';Now go to (__) and change the (__) setting to (__). Once you did that do (__) and VOILA!'; But I can't seem to find what it is they are talking about. They leave steps out, and don't tell me which layers to apply it to. I'm so frustrated!!!

The best thing that could've ever happened to you is Google. Google 'Photoshop Tutorials', without the quotes and it should yield everything you need. From text to videos, it'll be there for sure. I've used it myself.

In photoshop press F1 and you will find one of the better tutorials out there. They do a fantastic job of documenting their software.

There is a book brought out by Adobe called ';Classroom in a book';. Great advice and you'll really learn something. Stay away from books ';For Dummies';. They talk down to you and are not helpful at all.

Photoshop is a vast program. Just explore it and 'play' with it. You can't ruin anything especially if you use the SAVE AS button, and rename the file. (Your original stays unedited that way, waiting until you become an expert!)What is the best adobe photoshop CS2 tutorial for beginners?

The really artsy stuff (like you see on Deviant Art) is a product of someone's imagination/creativity and their knowledge of the program they're using. Once you learn to use all the tools and especially the Filters, Layer Styles and Effects menus, you'll be able to do most of the Photoshop tutorials you see. I finally reached that point after using the program for a couple of years and it's really fun - and very challenging.

You'll also end up collecting add-ons like plugins, gradients, Layer Styles (my weakness), fonts, brushes (another addiction) and actions to add some muscle to Elements. The people who create those great pieces of photo art aren't using the program they installed right out of the box. They've added all kinds of extras to it. You install these extras directly into specific folders in Program Files. The exact pathway depends on 1. Your operating system and 2. the version of Elements you're using. I can safe you the hassel of the first tutorial - you can't do anything to change the resolution on an existing image unless you re take the shot at higher res. Photoshop can't invent data with pixels that it doesn't have.

As for the 2nd question. In the file menu%26gt;image%26gt;transform image%26gt;increase size by 150% max - after that you suffer from pixellation and image degradation.Adobe Photoshop Tutorials?
Just want to comment on these features quickly. You are aware that if you increase the resolution or dimensions of an existing photo, all you do is add pixels to the image (PS does it based on some algorithm) and the picture quality WILL deteriorate - just thought I'd mention.

Just type Picnik into your browser and it will be right there on the 1. blue line.

Click on it and let it load,then follow direction.

My husband bought me the software because I love playing with pictures (adding color, erasing areas, fixing old photographs). I tried figuring out the program on my own, but had a hard time. A good friend of mine is a graphic designer and recommended ';Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Classroom in a Book'; (that is the version I have, but they have the book for all versions). That is the book she used to learn the software in her college class. It is an amazing book. I am now a whiz with Adobe Photoshop. It is very detailed and illustrated, and it includes a CD tutorial so you can actually practice what you learn in each chapter!!! Lets say you learn to ';erase'; something, you would actually do an example of lets say ';erasing'; someone from a pic. You can get the book from amazon. You'll love it, it was a lot of fun. Pirated copies of lynda.com videos tutorials are all over the web, not that I would suggest using pirated anything. It's naughty. Quite how these pirated videos are available on sites like isohunt.com is beyond me.

probably the easyest program to find tutorials for is adobe photoshop cs3

you can find those anywhere on the net, just for incase, i'm an administrator on a graphic design forum www.tech-gfx.net, lots of tutorials and people to guide you.

when you get started in adobe photoshop you'll find the other programs are mostly similar in workflow (except for the ptograms that were brought into the adobe collection after they bought macromedia, those have a bit different workflow)

The best books you can get are Photoshop Studio by Bert Monroy and Commercial Photoshop also by Bert Monroy. I have them both and they are excellent.
